Long hair tamed into an effortless bun.

I received a recent question about my hair do on Immad's Birthday, I've been asked a few times now. So I have decided to post it up :)
These photos of my hair were taken at the end of the day so it does look a little messy - I didn't anticipate writing a blog post :/

Hello Ruhi,

To achieve the hairstyle in my profile photo I curled my hair using rollers - the Velcro ones.

I have used many types of rollers but these come out the nicest - set the rollers in damp hair and relax for two hours.

Then I divided the hair into three sections - top, middle and bottom. Bun the bottom section loosely, I used a hair band to secure this.

Then wrap the middle section around the bun using bobby pins, this hides the hair band and makes the hair style appear effortless.

Scoop the sides of the top section into the middle, securing with bobby pins as you go along.

I use the largest rollers on the crown of my head for volume.

Hair spray everything into place - You can use Elnett Hairspray for flexible hold or if you want a more rigid look then try Garnier Fructis Bamboo Flexihold Hairspray.

So in answer to your question, I cheated. Heavy hair refuses to stay in place just with pins.

Hope that helped

:)

Found: The best eye cream in the world.

I have tried a ton of eye creams and 'Shiseido Bio-Performance Super Eye Contour Cream' is the best one that I have found. I use it in the morning under my foundation as a base and during the night before I go to sleep. It's relatively cheap at $55 for 0.53oz and it leaves the skin around my eyes feeling firm and puff free. I've been using this for about 9months now.

I really noticed the power of this baby when I was awake for 32hours and had to attend a speaking function. I was feeling like death so I slapped lots of this stuff on and some eye shadow before I left the house. I had been using Shiseido Eye cream for about 2 weeks. My colleuges refused to believe I had not slept the night before. Me being totally rubbish at keeping secrets told them about my magic cream, to which they responded with more praise.

What it says on the packet: Reduces the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles, and dullness, as it effectively hydrates and energizes skin. Developed with advanced Shiseido technology and ingredients including Wrinkle-Targeting Complex and Super Bio-Moisture Network. The texture is easily absorbed and never sticky. Excellent for all skin types.

What it does: All of the above. If I could ask for one more thing, it would be something that had a stronger firming effect, when I laugh my cheeks really push up and cause the fold under my eyes to appear so big that it becomes the predominant feature of my whole face. Not sure if anything can solve that problem.

Remember to never rub cream onto the eye area. Pat the cream gently using your ring finger. Pat pat pat pat pat.
