My poor neglected blog. How sorry I am for not updating you more often. Do not dismay any longer Bloggy, I am back to nourish you with so much content your sides are going to split!
Well, maybe not split but your tummy won't be rumbling for a few weeks.
Enough crazy Ema talk.
This year has really been intense and it's only hit day 13. Life has been super hectic but fun. However the most fun thing I've been doing recently and that I want to share with you is;
I started my Marketing Course at UC Berkley. I am LOVING going back to studying. I have had numerous roles in marketing from leading a whole department to consulting for swish clients. I have been winging it more or less. Basically being told something needs to be done, and on-the-spot-making-it-happen. Not sure how I was able to do this, just thinking about the challenges I faced makes me scared now. However at the time I never felt this fear, just my brain on repeat; "Find a solution Ema, Find a solution Ema. FIND A SOLUTION EMA!".
It is similar to action films. Where the hero feels no pain until the armageddon-style fight is over. Then a tiny scratch on his arm feels too much to bare, when the romantic love interest, tries to bandage it.
I have to say I was super lucky to have worked with amazing people, who helped me find the right solutions
Enough self-refection (it is the new year and my brain wants to ponder - must resist the urge or this post will be far too long).
I have always felt that because I have not had any formal training/education in marketing that something was missing from my knowledge stream. Studying marketing for two weeks now, I feel that I made the right decision in focusing on education. Many people have told me that there is little value in studying marketing (with my experience), that all the needed knowledge, can be gained from books and on-the-job training. I find myself disagreeing. The most valuable aspect of the course, thus far, is that I am able to re-organize all the information in my brain. The marketing jumbled jungle in my brain is being taken off the floor, detangled and polished. Already I am applying what I am learning to my work. I know it's early days but I can't wait to see what the next 10 weeks on this course holds.
I should add that this course has the most wonderful professors.
